After the World War I. the defeated Ottoman Empire had to sign the Mondros Armistice Agreement in 30th of October 1918. After the Armistrice Agreement, there was a temprorary complecency in Anatolia. The Ottoman including muslims and non-muslims had a peace athmosphere thanks to the Armistice Agreement. However, it had not taken a long time to disappear the athmosphere because the battle for national independence had just gained speed with the Greek occupation in Izmir, 15th of May 1919.
The duration from the Mondros Armistice Agreement to the occupation of Izmir has not been enough sought concerning the incidents by historians. Thefeore, the police report written by the İzmir Safety İnspector in 1919 filled the crucial loophole. The report has divided into three main sections respectively; detections regarding social movements, The Rum attitudes and recommendations for providing the peace. The police report from the Ottoman archive confirmed that the Izmir Rum had provided a basis for the Greek occupation.
