ABSTRACT
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between physical education teacher candidates’ content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge achievement in classes. 36 third year students (38 males, 25 females) attending Batman University, School of Physical Education and Sports, Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching in 2015-2016 academic year participated in the study. Physical education teacher candidates’ end of term final grades in content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge classes were examined. It was found that female students had higher achievement scores compared to male students in content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge classes. However, no statistically significant relationships were identified between students’ content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge achievement scores.
