Studies on Visual Arts Course in primary and secondary education is extremely scarce.The problems in art education should be eradicated for increasing quality of education. For this reason, examining of the opinions of the students towards Visual Arts Course increases the importance of the study.This study includes 800 secondary school students from three districts of Diyarbakır in 2014- 2015 academic year. The subject of the study comprises of opinions of secondary school students on Visual Arts Course course. In this study, a questionnaire which has two parts is used. The first part of questionnaire involves 9 questions on students’ demographic information and the second part involves 21 questions on opinions of students towards Visual Arts Course course. Data is interpreted with calculating frequency and percentage. 700 questionnaire forms are accepted. According to the findings, more than three to four of students use computer and Internet for Visual Arts Course and they enjoy this lesson and they think that materials should be exhibited and they find the weekly course hours of Visual Arts Course inadequate. Although the students think thatVisual Arts Course is compulsory and enjoyable, it is observed that most of them don’t want to study Visual Artsfor their university education. At the end of the study, it is suggested that the weekly hours of Visual Arts Course should be increased, Computers and Internet should be used for Visual Arts Course and special labotary should be established.
