Abstract: How would it be possible to put on partially sighted people’s shoes if it was requested from healthy people? Or would our gender, success, income, reading rate or divorce make showing empathy easier or difficult? This study having been conducted with sociology students at Batman university has investigated the answers of these questions. The results have shown that the level of empathy is changed according to people’s sociological situation rather than psychological situation. In other words, the ability to establish empathy is affected by sociological reasons and it is mostly changed due to them.
