1459032527 Investigation of the Lens at the Light Microscopic Level

The aim of this study vas to investigate the partridge (Alectoris chukar) lens at light microscopic level. The eye lens of 6 rock partridges were used as study materials. The lens consists of three layers as lens capsule, sub-capsule epithelium and lens body. It was determined that the lens capsule surrounded the lens from outer part and thickened a little on the anterior face. There were cubic epithelium cells in single order merely on the anterior face of the lens in sub-capsular epithelium. The lens body was made of major fibrils. It was observed that fibrils located at the centre of the lens lost their nucleus.
