This article studies the repair and maintenance activities carried out in the Dome of Rock-Shahrur and Mescidü'l-Aqsa in a planned manner by the Ottoman Empire in 1724 and 1742. For the planning of the repair and maintenance work to be done, an architect or assistant master (caliph) from Istanbul was commissioned in order for the exploration of the mosques. The mosques were examined in place by the appointed person, and after works to be done, tools needed for the repair, their sorts and number, and masters and porters to be employed for the repair were assigned, the suppliers which would provide those were registered and submitted to the officials to do what is necessary. After being obtained from the relevant suppliers by the officials, the necessary materials were first sent to Jaffa Pier and then to Jerusalem by ships.
