Slipping and gliding flux movements from hillsides and slopes occur with the effect of gravity of the grounds and/or rocks. Mass movement presented in this paper is the rockfall in Cobanören Village located in Siirt –Pervari.It is examined the reasons of the mass movement and effects on district. As a result of the measurements topography of the district composed of slope screes with the slope angle of 45-50 degree. It is determined that generally hillsides are formed middle degree degradated, broken and crack serpantines. Serpantines are known as rocks which have a high potential of geologic and mineralogical degradation.As a result of the observations conducted in hillside, it is seen that many huge rocks exist whichseperated from serpantine units due to many reasons. District is known as an active slip district in terms of its tectonic, geologic and morfologic structure. It is determined that due to these characteristics of the district, rocks in the hillside have a big potential of movement. According to the results; important precations should be taken in order to prevent property loss and mortality. One of this precations can be expropriation.
