1448016637 Medical Tourism in the context of Peace and Tourism: International Patients Flow at Batman Hospitals After “Solution Process”

The existence of tourism in a location change the routine of life in great deal and influences the habitants in terms of economical, environmental and socio- cultural dimensions. Peace as a concept is linked to tourism partly as bashfuly but it is claimed that they are partners of co-existed lining. Recently, medical services are delivered as a touristic field and the practice is labelled as medical tourism. It can be an opportunity for countries those are poor in natural and cultural resources for tourism. The essence of tourism, peace and medical tourism are life oriented and make people feel better. This paper explores and evaluates these three processes (tourism, peace and medical tourism) in Batman, a problematic city of Turkey that is one of the leading country of medical tourism in the World. Medical tourism in Batman was investigated due to numbers of international patients during the period of solution process. The findings revealed that patient flow increased. On the other hand, during the same process, the number of patients decreased rapidly contrary to the solution process because of terrorism due to Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
