1413386110 Simulation of a Solar Assisted Absorption Cooling System for Air-Conditioning Purposes

In this study, it was investigated to cool and air conditioning the new outbuilding of Engineering Faculty, Inonu University by using a solar assisted absorption cooling system. HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) was used to calculate the cooling load of the building. Simulation of the solar assisted absorption refrigeration system working with Li-Br and water fluid pair was performed to require the cooling load and an appropriate system design was done. In simulations, collector surface area, solar hot water tank volume per collector surface area are considered as variable parameters, hourly variation of the solar hot water tank temperature was calculated and the amount of required auxiliary heat source was determined. Collector slope angle was calculated to get maximum solar radiation received on the solar collector. In addition, fracture of non-purchased energy (FNP) was calculated for each month according to variable parameters.
