1394023986 To Investigate the Mathematic Anxiety Levels of Secondary Students

In this study, it is aimed to evaluate ‘mathematic anxieties’ of the secondary student in terms of some variables. For this purpose, “Mathematic Anxiety Scale” and “Personal Information Form”, which are developed by Bindak (2005) and researcher, respectively, have been used. The scale was applied to the random selected 280-student who attend to the secondary schools of Tatvan district of Bitlis city in spring semester of 2013-2014 school year. The independent sample t-test and one-way variance analysis have been used in the analyzing of obtained data. According to the results of analyses, it was detected that the significant differences are available by the class level of students and their like or dislike, while the point averages of anxiety scale concerned to the mathematic do not significant differences by gender statistically. The point averages of anxiety scale of the fifth graders are less than eighth graders. On the other hand, it was detected that the anxiety scale of the person like mathematics is less than the others who dislike mathematics significantly. In the study, it was detected that almost mean scores of students’ anxiety scale is scarcely.
