1356291747 New Quests In Art and Kinetic Sculpture

In the age of modern art artists have went beyond the thought of merely
creating a lasting work of art and endeavoured to make new experiments. All kinds
of knowledge, scientific inventions, the new techniques and technologies as well as
all kinds of objects used in daily life have found a place in the works of art. Individuak
feeling and thoughts have come to the forefront and the limits of sculpture have been
exceeded. Artists who have got supoort from cientific inventions in their works have
not contented themselves only with nature and begun setting up relations with the
industrial environment and have created new art movements.By the same token,
kinetics which is in fact the branch of science that examines the movements in nature
has been the subject of art and especially sculpture. This subject which attracted
the interest of artists in 1950 for the first time and influenced them enormously has
led to the achievement of quite successful results and taken its proper place in the
history of art after 1960. Kinetic sculpture which is produced as a result of the joint
efforts of engineers and artists most of the time makes ample use of the contemporary
technology. Possibilities of movement by means of such natural factors as wind,
air, water or touching of an individual has taken the form of movement that can be
controlled with the help of technology and gains permanency.
