Numbers are systems of signs that take place as main elements of quantitative
evaluations in Daily life. These systems, which are quantitatively situated upon time
and space, acquire new qualifications (identity) by means of their values obtained
independently of mathematical usages in Daily life. Determinatives of this identity
are cultures and social experiences of other societies with which every society
more or less interchanges. Religious beliefs coming to light during unknown times,
experiences, inspirations may be shown as sources of values that have progressed by
means of numbers and may be described as qualitative.
This study focuses on qualitative meanings made of the numbers 1,3 and 40 that are
mostly used in both of our culture and literature, in this respect; it is also aimed at
explaining about usages of these numbers, by means of examples.
