1356265037 Two Masters Who Combined Science and Art

Although art and science are two universal languages, they are two important
complementary processes which seek beauty. Although, Ebu’l-İz İsmail, or more
commonly, Al-Jazari and Leonardo da Vince, who used science and art together, lived
in different centuries, they are two important masters who applied science and their
creativities and whose works lead the science and art of today.
Al –Jazari is a master who lived in 12th and 13th centuries and established the foundation
of the science which is known as automation today and who collected his opinions in
his book called “Kitab-ul Hiyel” or “The Book of Imaginations”, which he illustrated with
his using own drawing skills. Leonardo da Vince, who lived in 15th and 16th centuries,
approximately two centuries after Al-Jazari, is an other master that explained his opinions
by combining science and art and created works which extant today.
The common points of these people who lived in different centuries are that they are
special persons who though by using their creativities as well as their imagination, and
who had skills to make plan, mature and explain them through art. In other words, they
had the power to bring the non-existing things into being by means of imagining.
These two people of art and science are considered that they deserve being studied
because they provided resources for the science and art of today.
