Prayer, in Islamic sufism, is the most powerful communication cahannel
between the Allah and human besides in psychology of religion it is a spiritual,
psychological and mental problems’ solution way and a model of therapy. Therefore,
in this study, prayer worship connected with conversation, humility, compassion,
kurbiyet, certainty, direction ve give and take which accepted as one of the most
important of sufic concepts. Again prayer worship’s therapeutic effects were
investigated in terms of the science of psychology of religion. Prayer’s therapeutic
effects on depressive disorders, attachment disorders, psychological conflicts,
abnormal behavior patterns, disorders of personality and anxiety were investigated.
In this term, in this study, prayer’s effects on self-actualization, self-seeking, selfrecognition
and self-discovering were examined.
