Paper, which has been one of the most important inventions throughout
the history of humanity, was first produced in China in 105 A.D.,began to become
widespread after 5th Century, arrived at Central Asia and Iran through caravans,
and then with the Arab invasion to North Africa and Andalusia, arrived at Spain, and
finally at Europe. Paper production carried on its process of becoming widespread
swiftly, towards the iner parts of the continent. Europeans, who adopted paper
production from the East, not before long, began to export paper to the East.
In 12th Century A.D., Andalusia ensured the arrival of the paper produced in that
region at Europe and the becoming of paper a truly significant writing material. This
region had also been an important centre due to the fact that Andalusia ensured the
origination of watermark which today plays an important role in paper dating.
