Handcraft has established an important link betweenpastandpresent since
it wasthere. Handcraft has a range of products. Each of these products have different
functions and communicational value. Communicational value of handcraft is
changeable according to society’s culture and traditions.
Each motif andcolour has a special meaning which is used in handcraft. Handcraft
products used as a means of non-verbal communication apart from their decorative
meanings for centuries. Societies have created their own motifs by stylizing life and
nature to show their feelings. These motifs can be seen on carpets, rugs and needlelace.
Inthisstudy, how motifs are used in handcraft products as a means of non-verbal
communication, the means of motifs and colours, feature of products will be
explained.
