Bedri Rahmi, a favourite name of Turkish art and literature, was born in
Trabzon. During his life he was interested in public art and want to reflect Anatolia
sensibility to his own art by using the possibilities of west art. Anatolia, that Bedri
Rahmi fond of during his art life, is the only and first source of his art. The Artist
didn’t confine himself with one side of Anatolia culture, oil color, writing, gravüre,
seramic, sculpture and mosaic were the areas that he attemted to. Eyüboğlu family
who lived with art, also had a huge collection of traditional hand art rare fragments.
This collection consisted of from rug to carpets, seramic to wall tiles, traditional
clothes to wovens, napkin to waistbands.
In this paper, ten examples of waistbands are explained on the point of color, fibre
type, motive characteristics and fabric dimensions.
