Institution culture, is a phenomenon that holds excellent organizations
together and that convicts mediocre organizations to mediocraty. In this sense,
employees of the institution have to develop an excellent culture to have an excellent
institution. Just as culture is the central factor in determining people’s behavior in a
society, at the same time, culture that belongs to the institutions develops in time and
becomes effective on how employees of the institution interact with opportunities
and threats in the environment. As traditional approaches remained insufficient in
solving the problems that are faced in institutional process, the need to approach to
the institutions culturally became increasingly important. Thus, institution culture is
effective on public relations by creating a world view and system of values in which
all decisions are built on at the institution. The communications of employees of
the institution with each other and public relations applications aren’t included in
this effect. Establishment of connection of public relations and culture correctly is
effective in achieving the objectives for institutions to attain the objectives and to be
successful. Identity and images of the institutions is always closely related with “
institutional culture and structure “. This study aims to explore the components of
institution culture and how this culture affects public relations activities.
