Mathematics is a branch of science which contributes to the development of
our mental functions and which eases our life and which makes us think rationally in
interpretation of events and phenomena. However, it has been accepted as a difficult,
inconceivable and unsympathetic course. The fact that the easthetical, sympathetic
and pedagogical aspects of Mathematics are not given as needed has a great deal of
share in the fact that Mathematics is perceived so.
In this study, in order that we can realize the item “ To improve positive attitude
of the students towards Mathematics”, which is still present in Turkish National
Education Ministry’s Curriculum, the necessity to concentrate on the easthetical
aspects of Mathematics was thoroughly studied. In this respect, the analyzing of the
principles of “Minimal Completeness” and “Maximal Applicability”, which are used
to measure quality of Mathematical aesthetics, and their applications to some notions
were carried out.
