1356117847 Comparison of Climate Datafor Batman and Diyarbakır cities using Linear Regression Analysis and Obtaining of Future Climate Data for Batman City

Dams are constructed for various purposes eg; energy production, flood
control and stream regulation but, they have both positive and negative effects on the
environment. The most important effect can be defined as the regional climate change.
In this study, the regional climate change were investigated for Batman city after the
construction of ILISU dam Which is fourth biggest HPP of Turkey To understand the this
change, the climate data for Batman and Diyarbakir which is nearby city were compared
using linear regression analysis and the regression coefficients were found as, 0.993,
0.852, 0.812for monthly average temperature, monthly average evaporation and monthly
average relative humidity respectively. A high similarity was obtained between two cities.
Karakaya and Kralkizi dams were constructed in 1997 and there has been a climate change
in Diyarbakir. Therefore the change in the climate data before and after 1997 in Diyarbakir
was applied to Batman city to understand the future climate data in Batman after the
construction of ILISU dam. The graphs for climate data for next few years were obtained.
